Drs. Render & Laura Parkman
Owners
Drs. Render and Laura Parkman are the owners of Foundations Dentistry, bringing a shared commitment to advanced care and strong community roots. Dr. Render, originally from south Georgia, earned his DMD from the University of Louisville in 2010 and completed a one year advanced education residency in Louisiana while serving on active duty in the United States Air Force. Dr. Laura graduated from the University of Louisville in 2012 and began her career in South Carolina while Dr. Render was stationed in the Southeast. After several years and welcoming their first child, they returned to Louisville to be closer to family and opened Foundations Dentistry in Middletown in 2015, later expanding into St. Matthews.
Dr. Render focuses his practice in oral surgery, specializing in dental implants and removal of third molars (wisdom teeth). He is certified in IV conscious sedation and uses digital workflow to plan and restore complex cases, helping patients regain their ability to smile and chew. Dr. Laura’s experience spans general dentistry, with advanced training in facial esthetics and orthodontics. She is a Pearl Invisalign provider, reflecting her progression from Gold status, and continues to train nationwide with the American Academy of Clear Aligners.
The Parkman’s have three children, Lilly, Wells, and Georgia Mae. Dr. Render serves as a Lieutenant Colonel in the Air Force Reserves, and together they enjoy family time, sports, and staying active in their community.
Co-Owner
Dr. Nowell Gray
Dr. Nowell Gray is a co-owner and partner of our St. Matthews location, following the merger of his long-standing practice with Foundations Dentistry. His addition marks an exciting new chapter, bringing together two trusted practices with a shared commitment to exceptional patient care and community connection.
Originally from Southern California, Dr. Gray earned his dental degree from the University of Southern California (USC) School of Dentistry. He spent over a decade practicing on the West Coast, where he developed a strong clinical foundation and a patient-first approach centered on trust, comfort, and long-term oral health.
He later relocated to Louisville with his wife, a Louisville native, to put down roots and start their family. In 2016, Dr. Gray purchased and built Gray Family Dentistry in St. Matthews, where he has proudly served the community for years. Known for his approachable demeanor and commitment to quality care, he has built lasting relationships with patients and families throughout the area.
Jenny Forsyth Rice
Office Manager
Jenny has been an integral part of Foundations Dentistry since its earliest days, joining the team as one of its first dental hygienists. She spent years providing exceptional patient care chairside, building lasting relationships and helping patients feel comfortable and confident in their smiles. In 2024, after earning her MBA, Jenny transitioned into a practice management role, where she now helps guide the growth and day-to-day operations of the office.
Jenny’s commitment to excellence is reflected in her academic achievements. She graduated magna cum laude from the University of Louisville Dental Hygiene School and summa cum laude from Murray State University’s Business School. While she enjoys the challenges and opportunities of her administrative role, patients may still occasionally spot her in scrubs, stepping back into the clinical setting she loves.
Outside of the office, Jenny enjoys cooking, reading, and spending time with her husband, Derrek, and their spirited Miniature Schnauzer, Captain, who keeps life entertaining with his stubborn and opinionated personality. Jenny also has a passion for travel and is always planning her next adventure, often before she’s even unpacked from the last one.
Ashton Robertson
Front Desk Staff | Middletown
Ashton is one of the friendly faces you’ll see as soon as you walk into Foundations Dentistry. As a front office receptionist, she helps create a welcoming and positive experience for every patient. Ashton has been with Foundations Dentistry for over three years and brings five years of experience in the dental field.
She primarily handles insurance and billing, ensuring a smooth and seamless process for patients, while also continuing to grow her knowledge of dentistry. Ashton especially enjoys learning more about the clinical side, including X-rays and overall patient care
Outside of the office, Ashton has a creative side and attended culinary school for baking and pastry arts.
Hannah McDaniel
Hannah is a friendly and dedicated dental receptionist who is passionate about creating a welcoming and positive experience for every patient. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Northern Kentucky University and brings a strong foundation in science and patient care to her role at the front desk.
In addition to managing scheduling, patient communication, and administrative tasks, Hannah is currently applying to dental school with the goal of becoming a dentist. Her career aspirations give her a deeper understanding of patient needs and a genuine enthusiasm for the field of dentistry.
Outside of the office, she enjoys continuing to learn more about dentistry and preparing for the next step in her professional journey.

Tricia was born and raised in Louisville, Kentucky. She has worked in the dental field for over 15 years. In Tricia’s free time she enjoys cooking, spending time with her family, and traveling to new places

Kayla Rodgers
Kayla graduated cum laude from the University of Louisville Dental Hygiene Program in 2023. She is passionate about providing thorough, gentle care and helping patients feel comfortable and confident during their visits. Kayla holds certifications in both nitrous oxide and local anesthesia administration, allowing her to better support patients who may feel anxious or require a more customized experience.
She takes pride in building relationships with her patients and educating them on the importance of maintaining long-term oral health. Known for her friendly personality and attention to detail, Kayla strives to make every appointment a positive one.
A fun fact about Kayla is that she rode for the University of Louisville polo team during college, combining her love for athletics with her time at UofL.

I grew up in the Pacific Northwest and graduated from Dental Hygiene school in 2023. I have always had a passion for dental health and patient care. As a dental hygienist, I’m dedicated to helping patients feel comfortable while supporting their long-term oral health. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time outdoors and spending time with my husband, family, and friends.
Chaney Adams

Chaney is a Louisville native and dental hygienist with 12 years of experience. She joined the Foundations team in June 2025 and has loved transitioning to this office and being part of such a supportive environment.
One of Chaney’s favorite parts of her job is building relationships with her patients and helping them feel comfortable and cared for. She is known for her calming presence, which she brings into each appointment.
When she’s not at work, Chaney enjoys walking or cuddling with her dog, Dolly, crafting, reading, and playing games. She also loves spending every free moment she can with her nieces and nephew.
Miranda Ashley
With 25 years of experience as a dental hygienist, Miranda brings a deeply compassionate, whole-person approach to patient care. She believes oral health is closely connected to overall well-being and is passionate about supporting her patients’ health, mind, body, and soul. Known for building lasting relationships, Miranda takes time to truly listen, creating a space where patients feel seen, understood, and cared for.
Her work is more than a career, it’s a calling. Guided by her faith in Jesus, she approaches each day with a sense of purpose and service, striving to make a meaningful difference in the lives of those she cares for. She is especially committed to advocating for patients, helping them feel empowered and informed.
Outside the office, Miranda enjoys spending time with her husband Craig and treasures time spent visiting Madison and Parker in Birmingham and Nashville. She enjoys traveling, exploring great food, fitness, reading, and podcasts. A lifelong learner, she is always seeking new knowledge to better serve her patients and grow both personally and professionally.

I’m Jennifer, a dental hygienist from Bardstown, Kentucky, and a proud graduate of the University of Louisville (2008). Since graduating, I have been practicing in Louisville and have lived in St. Matthews since 2014. I take pride in creating a comfortable and positive experience for my patients. Outside of work, I enjoy being outdoors, hiking, boating, sports, traveling, and spending time with my family, fiancé, and toy poodle, Jackson.

Rachel Smolenski
Expanded Duties Dental Assistant (EDDA) | Middletown
I have been in dentistry for over 10 years and love helping patients feel confident in their smiles. I am an Expanded Duties Dental Assistant (EDDA) and work closely alongside Dr. Laura, primarily in Invisalign and facial esthetics. I am trained in laser treatments, Hydrafacials, and chemical peels, and also serve as the Invisalign coordinator, assisting with attachments and treatment flow as well as supporting on the front end.
I truly enjoy getting to know my patients and being part of their confidence journey. I have lived in Louisville my whole life and love being part of this community. Outside of the office, I enjoy spending time with my friends, family, and my three fur babies, Archie, Luka, and Sadie. My hobbies include anything creative, especially crafting, cake decorating, and hosting social events.
Fatima Britt
Fatima joined Foundations Dentistry in 2024 as a dental assistant, bringing with her a strong background in patient care and attention to detail. Originally from Cozumel, Mexico, she worked as a hair and nail technician there for 10 years, developing a steady hand, keen eye for precision, and a passion for helping others feel confident and cared for. These skills have transitioned seamlessly into her role in dental assisting.
Fatima’s bilingual abilities have also created valuable opportunities for our team to better serve and connect with our Spanish-speaking community, helping patients feel comfortable and understood throughout their visits.
Outside of the office, Fatima enjoys spending quality time with her husband, their two beautiful daughters, and their rescue animals.

Morgan is a dedicated Expanded Duties Dental Assistant (EDDA) with seven years of experience in the field, known for her commitment to patient care and attention to detail. Originally from Louisville, she now resides in Mt. Washington, where she enjoys a balance of professional focus and an outdoorsy lifestyle.
Outside of work, you can often find her in the woods, riding side by sides and embracing the outdoors. During the summer months, she enjoys days at the lake, making the most of warm weather and scenic views.
She also has a love for live music and spends much of her free time attending concerts, always looking forward to the next great show.
